Blue

Unknown Β· Young Β· 3 years

Collie 3 years old Our lovely Blue πŸ’™ Arriving with us as a stray during the summer after being rehomed via a pet selling site, within 1 hour of being delivered to his β€˜new home’ this poor lad was abandoned at a local veterinary practice under the illusion of having being found! The awful individuals that are responsible for this are known to us and are being monitored! Thanks to the details on his microchip, we traced Blue’s previous owner who confirmed the details of this whole sorry situation. Blue was very unsettled initially and after discussions with his previous owner, we understand that this was normal for him, he was farm bred and had received very little socialisation in his early life. Blue sadly suffers from noise phobias, sometimes as simple as a car door closing but we are very proud of his progress so far, now that the weather is cooler we have been able to spend more time working on his socialisation and desensitisation to help him experience new environments. About Blue

What life with Blue looks like

Blue is a young adult dog waiting at HW Animal Rescue in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blue, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blue?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. HW Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blue on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blue if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” HW Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blue already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blue isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with HW Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blue and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
