adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Blue has found her home! Her story: At our Blue, she is a very special, little female dog. Her two different eye colors make her something truly unique. Her name is due to her icy blue, right eye. Blue was found on the street with her three sisters, Neva, Milka, and Pebble. Unfortunately, we do not know much about the background of the four puppies. It could be that they were abandoned or born in the wild and left by their mother. Now, however, the four are in safety and are eagerly waiting for their travel arrangements. Can Blue spend the rest of her life with you? Blue is expected to grow to a relatively small size when fully grown. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a precise estimate. Her otherwise white fur is adorned with black ears and large as well as small black spots. The little mouse behaves playfully like a puppy and loves to run around with her siblings. However, she also loves humans and shows herself to be very trusting and affectionate. During a potential cohabitation with another four-legged friend, we do not see any problems with her. However, her new family should be aware that Blue has not yet experienced life in a loving family. She still needs to learn the whole puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead of her. She needs people who can approach with much love and patience, and possibly also attend some positively working dog training classes with her and forgive her one or two mishaps. Leash walking, house training, and being left alone are still foreign words to her. During puberty, she will certainly test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things she has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Blue will definitely become a great lifelong partner. We hope so much that she can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for her. Blue is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can be adopted after a positive foster home experience. We would be very happy to have a foster home for the sweet mouse! Who will give her a loving forever home? Many thanks to Nani! You gave Blue her name. As of: 23.10.

Vielen Dank an Nani! Du hast Blue ihren Namen geschenkt. About Blue

What life with Blue looks like

Blue is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blue, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blue?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blue on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blue if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blue already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blue isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blue and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
