Bo

Female Β· Senior Β· 9 years

Alright, I'll just say it straight out... my life so far hasn't exactly been a fairy tale. After a seizure, I ended up at the shelter. Not my choice, of course, but I hope it really is the start of a much nicer chapter. Because honestly? I'm more than ready to finally find out what it feels like to truly have a home. Most people here don't know much about my past. Apparently I'm a bit of a mystery lover. 😏 What they do think? That I still need to learn to stay home alone, and that my house-training may need a bit more practice. No panic! With a little patience, a steady routine and a lot of "good girl, Bo!" I'll surely get quite far. And walks? That's where I score points! I walk nicely on the leash, without pulling your arm out of its socket. A proper lady, if I may say so myself. πŸ’β€β™€οΈπŸ• Other dogs aren't my thing for now. I've decided that I've gone without attention for years, so now I'd like to keep all the cuddles, treats and compliments to myself. That's why I'm looking for a home where I can be the only dog. No jealousy, no arguments about who gets the biggest bed... just me, you, and a lot of lovely moments together. What do you get in return? A cheerful, sweet girl with plenty of charm, lots of love to give, and the wish to finally experience what a warm family truly feels like.

About Bo

What life with Bo looks like

Bo is a senior dog waiting at Dierenasiel Ninove in Ninove.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺAdopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Ninove handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dierenasiel Ninove will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Ninove early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
