Bob

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 13 years

Bob is a 15-year-old Border Collie who came to us from an impoundment. Unfortunately, we don't have any information about his life before he arrived. **Behavior & Personality:** Bob is a strong-willed older gentleman. If he doesn't like something, he can quickly resort to biting. It's crucial for his future owner to have experience with dogs, respect his boundaries, and learn to read his body language. Bob needs a lot of rest and space. A busy household is not suitable for him. We think he would be happiest in a quiet place with a garden, like a farm or someone who can give him plenty of outdoor time. Bob seems to get along well with other dogs. A meeting with a stable dog is possible. **What Bob is looking for:** An experienced owner with a quiet home and a securely fenced garden. Someone who doesn't pressure Bob, understands his character, and can provide him with peace, space, and stability in his old age.

❤️ Soort dier: Hond Geslacht: Mannelijk Leeftijd: 15/07/2013

About Bob

What life with Bob looks like

Bob is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst in Belgium.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bob, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bob?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bob on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bob if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bob already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bob isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bob and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
