Adopt Bobby

Poodle · Male · Puppy

Bobby – a small heart dog with cuddle potential. The barely 9-month-old Toy Pudel Bobby had a difficult start in life. In his early months, he was unfortunately not socialized much and couldn’t get to know the world. Accordingly, he reacted insecurely to many environmental stimuli, people, and new situations at first. However, he has made tremendous progress over time. With patience, structure, and loving guidance, he has learned the most important basic rules and shows more and more his cuddly, affectionate, and clingy side. Once he has developed trust, he enjoys the closeness to his people very much and loves cuddle sessions. For Bobby, we are now looking for a permanent home with truly dog-experienced people who take pleasure in continuing to work with him and can provide clear guidance and security. Attending a good dog training class should be a given so that Bobby can continue to learn and develop stably. Ideally, it would be an unflustered, sovereign single-dog home where Bobby can orient himself. Children in the new home should already be older and more understanding, ideally around 9 years old. Additionally, we would like people who are aware that a dog – especially a breed like Bobby – not only requires time, patience, and training but also significant costs over its lifetime. Bobby already shows the first signs of a possible food allergy, so his future people should be ready to take responsibility in health-related matters as well. Whoever accompanies Bobby with patience, understanding, and loving consistency will receive a small dog with a big heart that is just beginning to discover how wonderful a safe and stable home can be.

About Bobby

What life with Bobby looks like

Bobby is a large puppy/kitten poodle dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bobby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bobby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bobby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bobby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bobby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bobby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bobby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
