Our BOBBY didn’t make it, despite IV fluids, despite everyone’s willingness, despite all efforts, despite every animal welfare visit—he simply couldn’t and wouldn’t go on any longer! Now Bobby has set off on his journey and has arrived in heaven. His values deteriorated by as much as double in just four days; he no longer had a chance! Maybe in recent times he always had to be very “strong” for his former owner, who entered hospice care—and perhaps now he was finally able to let go. Who can really know for sure? Dear Bobby, we would have loved to care for you, spoil you, and protect you here for several more years, but you had a different plan for yourself. Even though our time together was far too short—you settled in with us incredibly quickly and we grew fond of you right away—we could only accompany you with dignity as you left us. Cross the Rainbow Bridge safely, little treasure; there you’ll feel truly well again. RUN FREE, dear Bobby! And once again, our heartfelt THANK YOU to our veterinary clinic / veterinarian Dr. Heine in Heine and veterinarian Dr. Lührs from the Hohenheide Veterinary Practice for all their medical treatments and care. BOBBY was allowed to move into our LUCKY DOG HOSTEL yesterday as an emergency case because his owner became seriously ill and entered hospice care. Just recently, the Bremer Heimstiftung in Bremen-Walle had already contacted us to ask if we might have a spot or an idea for the 11-year-old “BOBBY.” Yesterday was our meet-and-greet, followed by a constructive conversation with the care facility’s management. At this point, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who looked after Bobby day in and day out over the past weeks, since—as mentioned—his owner entered hospice and Bobby was suddenly alone. Above all, our deepest gratitude goes to Thorsten and the team at the Bremer Heimstiftung for caring for Bobby—a gesture that is certainly not a given for a senior residence or assisted living facility! Bobby can now settle in peacefully with us, and we’ll keep you updated. According to initial information, this little Pekingese mix has already lost 3 kg but still weighs 14.55 kg, meaning he has several illness-related issues that our veterinarian Dr. Heine assessed during today’s intake exam, with further follow-up exams needed. Nowadays, nearly one in three dogs in Germany is “OVERWEIGHT”—yes, sadly, overweight—and for us, that’s simply a NO-GO!! The dog’s health is being jeopardized; sadly, this has become all too common! The fact is, we’re talking about misguided affection bordering on animal cruelty—the dog can barely walk on his own anymore. BOBBY 16.06.2023 R.I.P süsser Bobby Das Wunder blieb leider aus, wir haben jetzt noch eine ganz traurige Nachricht. Unser BOBBY schaffte es nicht, trotz Infusion, trotz aller Bereitschaft, trotz aller Bemühungen, trotz aller Tierschutzbesuche, er wollte und konnte einfach nicht mehr ! Nun hat sich Bobby auf den Weg gemacht und ist jetzt im Himmel angekommen. Seine Werte haben sich teilweise innerhalb von vier Tagen um das doppelte verschlechtert, er hatte keine Chance mehr ! Vielleicht musste er in der letzten Zeit immer sehr „stark“ sein für sein ehemaliges Herrchen, der in das Hospiz kam und vielleicht konnte er jetzt loslassen, wer weiß das schon so genau ? Lieber Bobby, wir hätten dich hier gerne noch ein paar Jahre umsorgt, verwöhnt und behütet, doch du hattest für dich einen anderen Plan. Auch wenn die Zeit mit dir viel zu kurz war, du dich super schnell bei uns eingelebt hast, wir dich sehr schnell liebgewonnen haben, konnten wir dich leider nur noch in Würde gehen lassen. Komm gut über die Regenbogenbrücke kleiner Schatz, dort wird es dir wieder richtig gut gehen. BOBBY durfte gestern als akuter Notfall bei uns im LUCKY DOG HOSTEL einziehen, weil sein Herrchen schwer krank wurde und in das Hospiz kam. Vor kurzem kontaktierte uns bereits die Bremer Heimstiftung in Bremen – Walle, ob wir ein Plätzchen oder eine Idee für den 11 – jährigen „BOBBY“ hätten. Gestern war unser Kennenlerntermin und es folgte ein gemeinsames konstruktives Gespräch mit der Pflegeleitung. An dieser Stelle, ein großes DANKESCHÖN an alle, die sich in den letzten Wochen tagein- und tagaus um Bobby gekümmert haben, da wie erwähnt das Herrchen in das Hospiz kam und Bobby plötzlich alleine war. Vorrangig ein großes DANKESCHÖN an dieser Stelle von uns hier an Thorsten und an das Team der Bremer Heimstiftung für die Pflege von Bobby, keine Selbstverständlichkeit für ein Seniorenheim/Betreutes Wohnen ! Bobby darf sich nun bei uns in Ruhe einleben und wir werden euch weiterhin auf dem laufenden halten. Der kleine Pekinese-Mix hat lt. Info bereits 3 kg abgenommen, wiegt aber trotzdem noch 14,55 kg und somit demnach einige krankheitsbedingte Baustellen, die wir heute in der Eingangsuntersuchung von unserer Tierärztin Frau Heine abklären liesen und es müssen weitere Nachuntersuchungen folgen. Fast jeder dritte Hund in Deutschland ist mittlerweile zu „DICK“, ja richtig gehört leider zu dick und für uns ist das schlicht weg einfach ein NOGO !! Die Gesundheit des Hundes wird hier auf das Spiel gesetzt, leider mittlerweile der Klassiker! Fakt ist wir sprechen schlichtweg von einer falsch verstandenen Tierliebe bis hin zur Tierqual, der Hund kann kaum mehr alleine laufen.
