Bogie

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! Boogie has found his people! His story: Boogie, the lively and cuddly young pup, is waiting for your request! Originally from Zalau in Romania, he waited his whole childhood for his ticket to happiness. Bogie is more open to new people than his buddy Rascal. He constantly seeks affection and cuddles and can't get enough of them. With strangers, he might sometimes react with some wariness and insecurity, but he warms up very quickly with them. However, strangers and especially large fellow animals more unsettle Bogie. He is generally social, but he needs some guidance during his introduction to new doggy friends. The handsome male dog is now running well on a leash, but this still needs to be practiced further. He would rather run with Rascal. Bogie shows a pronounced prey drive, which even cyclists might not feel safe around. It is likely that he will never be able to be off-leash. His frustration tolerance is low. Patience must be exercised and trained with him. Bogie is looking for people who have good knowledge and experience with positive dog training. At around 2 years old, he is still puppy-like, playful, agile, and curious. He still has a lot to learn and needs people who can explore the world with him and guide him by the paw. Because, like Flynn, he can sometimes be overwhelmed by new situations or unfamiliar sounds, etc., and react insecurely. However, he is open and curious. With a person by his side, he faces the unknown. For Boogie, we are looking for people who already have some dog experience to give him more security. He looks forward to lots of cuddles and an active family. Bogie is around 2 years old and has a medium, pleasant body size of about 50 cm. Our Bogie is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can be released after a positive adoption. Who will give Bogie a life full of happiness? Many thanks, Rosenquark! You have given Bogie his identity! Date: 03.05.

Vielen Dank Rosenquark! Du hast Bogie seine Identität geschenkt! Stand: 03.05.2024

About Bogie

What life with Bogie looks like

Bogie is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bogie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bogie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bogie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bogie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bogie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bogie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bogie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
