Boldizsár

Mixed Breed · Male

Boldizsár came into our care during the summer, escaping from rather atypical circumstances. He came from Baranya county and the family he lived with was notably "famous" among local animal welfare workers. They gather dogs and if they get in a tight spot, they eat them... yes, you read that right, this is where we are in Hungary. Boldizsár will certainly not be anyone's dinner, but we hope he will be the most cherished treasure. According to the veterinary estimate, Boldizsár was born in October 2023 as a male dog. Boldizsár is a real little energy bomb who enjoys every moment of life, as if he precisely knows how lucky he is to have been given a new chance. Open, curious, and friendly - he greets people just as enthusiastically as his four-legged companions. Due to his medium size, he is the perfect choice for anyone who does not look for a large dog, but still wants a truly active and sporty companion. If you feel you could be the one Boldizsár is waiting for, don't hesitate to contact us at 06 20 543 5092 or visit us on Saturday in Csévhárom.

HU·Show original

About Boldizsár

What life with Boldizsár looks like

Boldizsár is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Luca Kutyamenedék in Hungary.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boldizsár, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boldizsár?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Luca Kutyamenedék handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boldizsár on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boldizsár if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Luca Kutyamenedék will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boldizsár already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boldizsár isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Luca Kutyamenedék early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boldizsár and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
