adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this dog! Bolero can stay forever! His story: Bolero has made it: He arrived at his foster home and can now finally experience what a real dog life feels like. After his tough start in life, he shows there’s a wonderful young male dog in him. Bolero is about 1.5 years old, approximately 52 cm tall, and a handsome mixed-breed male dog with white fur and light brown accents. A small, special feature: A piece is missing from his left ear – a silent witness to his past, making him even more unique. In his foster home, Bolero shows himself to be very cuddly, clingy, and affectionate. Especially in the mornings, he enjoys extensive cuddling and belly rubs. He actively seeks the closeness of his trusted people and is very happy about attention. At the same time, he is alert, playful, and eager to learn – he quickly understands new commands, especially when treats are involved, which he loves more than anything. Bolero already masters car rides well: During the ride, he is quiet and relaxed, although independent getting in still needs practice. With other dogs, he is initially more cautious but curious. If the sympathy is there, he plays very happily. Meetings with unfamiliar children have only taken place outdoors, where he showed himself to be reserved but calm. Bolero is generally open to people. There are no problems with friends and family. He is initially a bit reserved with strangers but remains always calm and not aggressive. In closed rooms, he occasionally shows a slight guarding behavior and barks because he thinks he needs to protect his people. This is currently being worked on together with a dog trainer. Bolero is house-trained, knows life in the house, and overall makes great progress. Training on leash walking still needs to be improved, but he is very learnable and motivated – with patience, clear guidance, and loving consequences, he will surely learn quickly. For Bolero, we wish for a home with a heart, time, and understanding that will give him security and joy in continuing to work with him. He suits active people who enjoy shared walks, mental stimulation, and cuddle time. Attending a positively working dog training class would be ideal for him. Bolero who would like to show this special dog that life can be beautiful and lasting? Bolero is waiting to have his heart given. Many thanks, Cordula B., for taking over his namesship. As of: 10.01. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 10.01.2026

About Bolero

What life with Bolero looks like

Bolero is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bolero, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bolero?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bolero on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bolero if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bolero already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bolero isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bolero and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
