Bones

Pointer · Male · Young · 3 years

BONES Would you like to guess as to why he was given the name, Bones? He arrived to us skin and bones! You could see his ribs and we were initially worried about his health, but we are happy to announce that he is one lucky boy. His blood tests came out clean! Despite what he’s been through, he keeps wagging his tail every single day and has high spirits! Since his arrival here at Simba, our main goal is to plumpen him so for now, he is enjoying the extra meals he is given. Bones is currently sharing a cell with another 6 dogs, male and females so he gets along nicely with both! Does superbly with young children too! He is a lemon & white pointer, estimated to be around 2 years old and of medium size. Will you be that person who can give our boy his forever, loving home? If you think you are the ideal home for him, please send us a message to arrange a meeting.

About Bones

What life with Bones looks like

Bones is a small young adult pointer dog waiting at Simba Animal Aid Cyprus.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇾Adopting from Cyprus

Cypriot rescues focus heavily on cross-border placements (the island has more strays than local adopters). Animals are fully vetted before flying. The adopter pays the transport, while the shelter coordinates vaccinations, chipping, and the passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bones, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bones?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Simba Animal Aid Cyprus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bones on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bones if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Simba Animal Aid Cyprus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bones already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bones isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Simba Animal Aid Cyprus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bones and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
