Bonnie

Female · Young · 3 years

Fina Bonnie is a sensitive girl with a heart full of love for treats. Once she overcomes her insecurities, she is the most affectionate lap dog you'll ever meet, happy to roll in the grass, chew on a stick, and chase after a ball. Bonnie came to us because she couldn't handle the addition of a new two-legged family member. Not because she did anything wrong, but it was just too much for her. However, she is a super loyal girl to those she loves, and she'll happily steal a spot on the bed. Bonnie is a cautious and a bit insecure dog. She requires a calm and stable person (with lots of treats) who can continue to show her that the world is not dangerous. She should be considered environmentally strong, even if she is insecure, but it's good to keep in mind not to expose her to new environments or situations until she feels comfortable. Other dogs she doesn't know can also be scary, but with a slow introduction, it's not impossible for her to make a new friend, but she should not live with another dog. She should not live with other animals like cats, birds, and farm animals, as she either hunts them or finds them intimidating. Even younger children are a bit scary, but children from the teenage years and up should not be a problem to live with, as long as she gets her space when she needs it. An active home without other animals and children would be perfect for Bonnie. She loves to swim and even dive, so she would have continued with that. She would also enjoy long walks with treat-seeking. It probably doesn't matter if it's more rural or urban, as long as she has an owner who can show her the right way forward. Someone with patience, time, and dedication. And also someone who can handle the leash when she finds something that smells very good. About Bonnie

What life with Bonnie looks like

Bonnie is a young adult dog waiting at Hundstallet in Stockholm.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundstallet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundstallet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundstallet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
