Bonnie

Female · Kitten · 5 months

Boonie is a blind cat. She undergoes eye therapy and may need surgery in the fall to remove corneal adhesions. She is three months old. She was temporarily placed with a student from France. Since the student has returned home, we need to find Boonie a permanent home. She is a happy cat! She is very good at navigating her surroundings. She is used to living with a dog, so we believe she could get along with a dog in a new home. If you like her, please contact us at:

About Bonnie

What life with Bonnie looks like

Bonnie is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at Dumovec in Zagreb.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇭🇷Adopting from Croatia

Croatian shelters include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID in the adoption process. Several work with Italian and German rescue networks for placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dumovec handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dumovec will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dumovec early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
