adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Bonnie has found a new home! Her story: The beautiful black Bonnie is on the hunt for her next dog bed – and this time, it's for forever! Already in August 2022, Bonnie had the fortune to travel to Germany at 7 months old. But as fate sometimes wills it, this unfortunately was not the forever spot. The beautiful female dog with the gleaming black fur gets along super with fellow animals, and would very much wish to meet one of them in your new home. Currently, she is a singleton princess, but she doesn't quite like that as much as life with other dogs in a household. She is definitely a looker on the outside, and the dark round eyes complete the look perfectly. Bonnie sometimes struggles with new things, and it's not easy for her to trust without other dogs around, so she shows a more shy and withdrawn side. Walking in the woods with your current owner works well now, but anything beyond that is a challenge when no other dog is present. Also, staying alone is still hard for Bonnie, and she belongs to the dogs who silently suffer in solitude. She settles into her dog bed and waits for her person to return, even foregoing drinking while waiting. Bonnie therefore needs people with experience who can show her that the world isn't as scary as she sometimes feels it is. Since Bonnie already lives in a household, she is house-trained and came with some really cool tricks in her trick bag. She has already mastered the Hunde ABC. Bonnie is currently not neutered. She has an EU pet passport and will be adopted for an adoption fee of 500 Euros and after a positive home visit. Are you ready to take Bonnie by the hand and show her how good it can feel to be alive? Your heart is already racing, isn't it? Many thanks Tina S.! You have given Bonnie her name and thus her identity! Date: 05.08.

Stand: 05.08.2024

About Bonnie

What life with Bonnie looks like

Bonnie is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
