adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Bonnie has found his people! His story: Bonnie is a mixed-breed male dog, about 4 months old and weighing 9.3 kg. He arrived at his foster home in early January with his buddy Smoky. The little guy is a true ray of sunshine! With his open and friendly nature, he wins the hearts of everyone he meets in no time. Bonnie is a playful puppy, enjoying life to the fullest. He loves running around with his friend Smoky, but even strangers find him very interesting. As Bonnie is still young, he is learning to walk on a leash. This requires some patience and understanding, but we are sure he will make progress quickly. Due to his young age, Bonnie cannot be left alone for long, making him a perfect fit for a family that can spend a lot of time with him. A visit to a positively working dog training class would surely please him and strengthen the bond between dog and human. Bonnie is likely to reach a medium size. We cannot rule out that he may bring herding or kitchen protection genes. At the moment, he meets everything new with great interest and friendliness. If you are looking for a loving companion who wants to explore the world and bring a lot of fun, then Bonnie is the perfect match. The fluffy puppy is vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, and is moving into his new home. He will be rehomed for an adoption fee of 500 Euros and will bring his EU Companion Animal Passport. Thank you, Monika V.! With your namesake sponsorship, Bonnie has the chance to have a happy, well-cared-for future. As of: 17.01.

Stand: 17.01.2025

About Bonnie

What life with Bonnie looks like

Bonnie is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
