Bonny

Female · Young · 3 years

Bonny, a 8-month-old Doberman, is looking for a new home where she can be the center of attention. She is a very affectionate girl and, at her age, she is still a bit scared of things. She loves to be close to her human and would like to snuggle up to them if she could. Bonny is a typical Doberman, trying to be tough on the outside but actually a real teddy bear. She is only 8 months old and this is a sensitive age where a lot is happening in her brain and body, so it's important to have understanding. As an active breed, she needs to be able to release her energy in the right way. Her human needs to understand that pushing her too hard doesn't help, but letting her take things at her own pace. Bonny finds other dogs and animals very scary. She shows this by sometimes trying to run away or barking at what scares her. She loves people and doesn't have any problems with older children. Training on a leash and dog meetings are something that her new home needs to practice, and also have the knowledge and strength to hold the leash as she sometimes has her own opinions on how the walk should go. We are looking for a moderately active home that can give Bonny security and clarity. She needs a secure and kind hand that can show her that the world is not so strange, and that as long as she walks next to you, you can solve everything. She doesn't want to be left alone for too long and alone training should be done at a calm pace and increased as she feels more comfortable. She longs to share her bed with her human and go on long adventures. Answer the questions below to get an indication of how your daily life and plans match a dog's needs. This will help both you and us to find the right match and give the dog a secure home. You need to do the test before you can submit your interest form. The price is between 2,500 - 10,000 SEK, depending mainly on the age of the dog. A deposit for a "booked" dog is charged at a cost of 2,000 SEK. About Bonny

What life with Bonny looks like

Bonny is a young adult dog waiting at Hundstallet in Stockholm.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundstallet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundstallet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundstallet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
