adoption requirements adoption process Ask for Boo now! adoption requirements adoption process Ask for this dog now! Boo is a young, sensitive female dog who still needs to learn that people can also be good. With only two years old, she was found abandoned and frightened – an experience that left its mark. At the moment, Boo is still very shy. She would rather retreat into her little house because that's where she feels safe. For us, everyday things like going on a leash, house training, or even putting on a collar are currently not possible. But Boo is making small, quiet progress – and these moments are so valuable: she now eats in the presence of her caregivers, a crucial milestone on the path to more trust. Also, she stands more and more curiously at the grille and looks outside. These small moments give hope and touch the heart. We wish Boo a loving home with a lot of patience, calm, and understanding. Since she is very friendly, a fellow animal for orientation would likely be helpful, but it is not necessary. Her future family should ideally have experience with handling scared dogs and be ready to give her all the time in the world to settle in at her own pace. With the right people by her side, Boo will also learn to trust and gradually blossom. Boo travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, and spayed. As part of her travel arrangements, she of course brings her EU pet passport. The adoption application must be positive. Also, an experienced foster home would greatly help her and be an important step into a new life. Many thanks to the anonymous sponsor! You gave Boo this sweet name and thus the chance of a new beginning. A big thank you also goes to Melanie S., who took on a monthly sponsorship for Boo. As of: 02.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 02.05.2026

About Boo

What life with Boo looks like

Boo is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
