Booky came to us after being abandoned... He had been adopted from our shelter over eight years ago, and now he’s back where he started. He’s a sensitive dog who tends to be shy around people he doesn’t know well. He’ll need a calm, respectful, and patient human companion. In some cases, Booky may exhibit resource guarding behavior toward his toys, his bed, and his food bowl. We’ll avoid placing him with young children due to his existing fears. Booky has pituitary-dependent Cushing’s disease, so he’ll require lifelong treatment and regular monitoring. Booky can live comfortably with another dog of similar size. However, he doesn’t get along with cats. For Booky’s well-being, we kindly ask that you familiarize yourself with calming signals and positive reinforcement training methods.

Booky est arrivé chez nous suite à un abandon… Il avait été adopté dans notre refuge il y a plus de 8 ans et le voilà de retour à la case départ. C’est un chien sensible, et timide quand il ne connaît pas bien, il aura besoin d'humain calme, respectueux et patient. Booky peut dans certains cas faire de la protection de ressource sur ses jouets, son panier et sa gamelle. Nous éviterons un placement avec de jeunes enfants étant donné ses craintes. Booky est atteint de la maladie de cushing hypophysaine, un traitement à vie et un contrôle régulier sera à prévoir. Booky pourra vivre avec un chien de son gabarit. Il ne s'entend pas avec les chats en revanche. Pour le bien-être de Booky, merci de vous renseigner sur les signaux d’apaisement et l’éducation bienveillante.
