Adopt Boomer

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

About 4.5 years old (born around August 2021) 48 cm Male, neutered STILL IN POLAND Update August 25 Boomer is a male dog with a lot of charm and energy. He shows a very friendly, outgoing, and open demeanor towards people – a dog who seeks contact but also brings a certain independence. Boomer needs a home with clear structure and reliable leadership. Walks are enough to keep him occupied – any additional activity would quickly overwhelm him. It's important that his people take consistent leadership so that Boomer doesn't have to shoulder a burden that would overwhelm him. For this wonderful dog, we are looking for dog-experienced people who can confidently accompany and give him orientation and calm. Boomer brings everything that is needed for a harmonious coexistence – if he can rely on his people. Videos: Update June 24 Boomer is simply Boomer. At around 2.5 years old, he is very agile and wants to be mentally stimulated as well. His hunting passion cannot be hidden. But Boomer also needs cuddle sessions, and he clearly enjoys them. Boomer wishes for a home where he can let out his energy. The whirlwind also needs quiet times that he can enjoy in his family. Video June 24: BOOMER – the dog with the right nose Boomer is a sweet guy with a lot of energy. He is very people-oriented and immediately comes to someone for a thorough cuddle session. During a walk by the lake, he was eager to sniff out all the scents: the water, the ducks, the reed shore, everything. From his appearance and behavior, it is likely that a Polish bracke will be part of his future family. Boomer lives very uncomplicatedly in a mixed dog group. During a walk, a female dog from another group was also present, and this was uncomplicated as well. We wish for the wonderful sniffer Boomer an active home where he can be occupied, for example, with nose work, because he has the talent and passion for it.

About Boomer

What life with Boomer looks like

Boomer is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at home4dogs in Home4dogs.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boomer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boomer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. home4dogs handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boomer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boomer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — home4dogs will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boomer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boomer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with home4dogs early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boomer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
