adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Boomer can stay forever in his foster home! His story: Boomer is about 1 year old, has a cute size of around 45 cm, and weighs about 12 kg. Just like his famous namesake from the 80s, our little stray boy is clever, friendly, and a perfect mix of sweet nature and stylish appearance. We hope very much to find the ideal home for the little gentleman where he will receive as much love and affection as he gives. Boomer was found on a field near a road. It is assumed that he lived alone and under difficult conditions for a long time. Upon rescue, he was in poor condition and his fur was heavily infested with Demodex mites. Since a stress-free environment is important for his recovery, we are glad that the poor fellow could first stay in a Romanian foster home and did not land directly in the shelter. Now, he is doing much better. His fur is still being treated medically, but he is making great progress and will hopefully be fully healed soon. Boomer is an attached, open, and relaxed type who greatly enjoys the company of humans and will surely become the most loyal companion. He has not yet met any cats, but he gets along excellently with his fellow animals and would certainly be willing to share his favorite humans with another fur nose. Beautiful, exhausting walks, many playful moments, and not to forget plenty of cuddles will also ensure that the brown-eared handsome boy is happy. The young Boomer could still be in the throes of puberty – the exciting phase where, hormonally driven, sometimes chaos reigns in a dog's head and boundaries are curiously tested. Nevertheless, there is still much that he can learn with the patient and understanding guidance of his new humans. But don't worry, as described by Boomer, he will surely try his best to please his two-legged companions. Who will give Boomer a happy ending and grow together with him as an unbeatable team? Many thanks, dear Odette, for the wonderful and fitting name you gave him. Status: 28.01. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

About Boomer

What life with Boomer looks like

Boomer is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boomer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boomer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boomer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boomer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boomer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boomer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boomer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
