adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Bora has found her forever home! Her story: The beautiful Bora, with her long, slender legs, has settled well in her foster home. She is very happy with her new life, enjoying long walks and cozy cuddle hours. But now, she still needs her own people for perfect happiness 🙂 Bora suffered a lot in the shelter in Romania. The young female dog is a gentle soul who loves people and freedom more than anything. Life behind dreary, lonely bars on just a few square meters was barely tolerable for her. Bora is currently around 2 years old and is about 58-60cm tall. She is very slender and delicate in build and weighs just about 25kg. Bora has a loving and friendly nature and an open personality that easily wins hearts. For the clingy Bora, being stroked or being close to people is a highlight. In the stressful shelter life, where she lived for over a year, such opportunities were not often available because many dogs need to be attended to. In unfamiliar situations, she can still show insecurity, but she finds her way quickly with her trusted people. The young and sweet puppy is truly a graceful sight, and her beautiful white-gray fur pattern is a real showstopper. Her lack of a collar does not diminish her charm in any way. However, an entry into Switzerland is not possible due to this. For the people-oriented Bora, we are looking for loving people who can integrate her as the special family member into their everyday life. Although Bora had a previous owner in the past, she likely received little training or affection there. Bora is compatible with other dogs. We wish for the pretty mouse active people who can do agility or mantraling with her or other fun activities that keep her engaged. An only dog would also be great for her, but the other dog should also be active and want to play a lot, because otherwise, it could be too exhausting for the other dog 🙂 After a successful adoption, she will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and in possession of an EU pet passport. Who will give the lively Bora their heart? Many thanks to Sandra S., through you, Bora has gained an identity. As of: 04.08.

Stand: 04.08.2024

About Bora

What life with Bora looks like

Bora is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
