BOSS

Male · Adult · 6 years

Boss' life hung by a thread - now he finally needs his home! Boss is named Boss for a reason: his impressive appearance. But those who get to know him quickly realize: he's not bossy at all! On the contrary - Boss is incredibly sweet, social and gets along wonderfully with other cats. Boss lived peacefully with other cats at a feeding station of the Osnabrück Cat Protection Association for a long time. But then it suddenly became serious: his teeth had become increasingly bad and one day Boss didn't show up. When he came back, his life was on the line. 🌡️ high fever 🩹 abscesses 🤧 severe cat flu 😿 shortness of breath We did everything for Boss. Among other things, FORL was diagnosed - a painful dental disease. That's why all his teeth had to be removed. Boss was also tested positive for FIV. Currently, the disease does not seem to have broken out. FIV is mainly transmitted through bite wounds - and since Boss no longer has teeth, transmission by him is practically excluded. And the most important thing: without his painful teeth, Boss is already doing much better! Currently, he is allowed to recover in a foster home and is still getting the cat flu under control there. He shows himself there as an incredibly sweet and social cat. But: his time in the foster home is limited. He cannot stay there permanently. That's why we are URGENTLY looking for a home for Boss! 🏠 apartment with balcony 🐱 likes to be with nice cat company ❤️ patient people who give him time 🌱 Because Boss has to learn about life in the house: how to play? How to cuddle? How does it feel to really have a home? Maybe you are the person who shows Boss that his life can finally be beautiful after all the fighting. Who gives our brave Boss his forever home? Please contact us by phone or WhatsApp at .

About BOSS

What life with BOSS looks like

BOSS is a adult cat waiting at Katzenschutzbund in Brüggen-Bracht.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting BOSS, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BOSS?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenschutzbund handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BOSS on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BOSS if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenschutzbund will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BOSS already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BOSS isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenschutzbund early rather than rehoming privately; they know BOSS and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
