BOURBON

Spanish Mastiff · Male · Adult · 4 years

BOURBON was surrendered to the animal rescue association by its previous owner. He had spent most of his life outdoors, in a kennel enclosure, and that was not a life for him. Now it depends on us that BOURBON experiences the warmth of a home. BOURBON is a 4-year-old, large-sized male crossbreed of Pyrenees Mastiff. He is affectionate and good beyond measure, allowing everyone to do anything with him, and those who know him end up falling in love with him. He is learning to go to the bathroom on the street and to walk on a leash, as he has only been out of his home a few times, and those were without a leash. He is not reactive or dominant with other dogs, but we still need to evaluate him in different environments. He has not been tested with cats. BOURBON will be dewormed internally and externally, with the necessary analyses done, the DNA test performed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and neutered. BOURBON is looking for adoption ONLY in Zaragoza (no shipping).

Copyright © 2026 ADALA - All Rights Reserved.

About BOURBON

What life with BOURBON looks like

BOURBON is a large adult spanish mastiff dog waiting at ADALA Zaragoza in Zaragoza.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting BOURBON, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BOURBON?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ADALA Zaragoza handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BOURBON on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BOURBON if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ADALA Zaragoza will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is BOURBON already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BOURBON isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ADALA Zaragoza early rather than rehoming privately; they know BOURBON and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
