JAX.Brindle male [large]

Male · Young · 3 years

Jax is coming into rescue through no fault of his own. New family members are allergic and it is not fair on him to be continually removed him from the room.He is a large boy, used to living with another dog. However, he can be possessive of his food and so we recommend he be the only dog in the home. He is excited to greet visitors but settles quickly. When assessed he was a little wary at first but settled, was approachable, friendly and wanted to play. He showed no signs of aggression and overall he is a lovely calm dog.Jax is good with people but can be curious when young children are loud so we think an adult only home or one with children aged 12+ may suit him best.Jax pulls on the lead but is correctible. He is calm when he sees other dogs and will chase cats and squirrels. Off-lead he likes to run, he comes back eventually but his recall is not good and will need working on .Currently Jax lives in inner London, in a home with a small garden. He can bark when there is activity on the other side of the low boundary fence.Jax has recently recovered from a skin ailment and received the all-clear and his general health is good.Ideally, we are seeking a home where he will be able to have plenty of space for on and off lead activity. If you would like to know more about Jax or wish to offer him a home please contact Lorraine Harvey on or An adoption donation of £300 will apply.

About JAX.Brindle male [large]

What life with JAX.Brindle male [large] looks like

JAX.Brindle male [large] is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Home Counties Boxer Welfare in United Kingdom.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting JAX.Brindle male [large], answered.

How do I contact the shelter about JAX.Brindle male [large]?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Home Counties Boxer Welfare handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw JAX.Brindle male [large] on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt JAX.Brindle male [large] if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Home Counties Boxer Welfare will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is JAX.Brindle male [large] already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if JAX.Brindle male [large] isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Home Counties Boxer Welfare early rather than rehoming privately; they know JAX.Brindle male [large] and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
