Braham

Mixed Breed · Male

Who am I? My name is Braham, but not for very long. I must be 9 years old. But I don't know for sure. This name was given to me by one of my rescuers, because before that I just had different nicknames. My story is rather ordinary. Like almost all the cats on the street, but I was lucky to have met people who fed me every day or almost every day, and loved me in their own way. They were always kind and gave me shelter, but unfortunately not a home... they probably didn't have space in their house anymore. But this life isn't so bad... it could be worse, but sometimes I get sick or even hurt, so the days can be harder, but I keep going strong. But for some days now I haven't been feeling well, I have big wounds that no one can heal. So I think my rescuers asked for help. Oh, here they come to get me... I'm a little scared, but everything is going well. I'm at the veterinarian, he's nice and takes care of me, and I'm warm. But I'll have to go back to the street... that's a shame. Here we go again... Oh, but where are we going? The lady from Cat'étoiles doesn't know where I live, she's taking me somewhere else... Oh, she took me to her home, it's great, there's food and water, and nice cushions to sleep on... I'm so comfortable! And there are friends, they are kind to me and I am too. And my foster mom gives me lots of cuddles. It's great here!!! My foster mom is crazy about me, she says I'm a ball of love, she just promised not to leave me on the street anymore because in addition I have FIV... I need to be pampered because although it's not serious, this virus doesn't like street cats. Today she would like to find a good home for me. I'm very gentle, affectionate and completely harmless... My foster mom says if you're looking for the perfect cat, you've found him and apparently it's me. Until soon, I hope. Adoptable within a maximum radius of 250 km around Chabris (36).

About Braham

What life with Braham looks like

Braham is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at CAT in chabris.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Braham, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Braham?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. CAT handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Braham on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Braham if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — CAT will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Braham already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Braham isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with CAT early rather than rehoming privately; they know Braham and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
