Bravo

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Bravo, a dog born in 2022. Bravo is a confident dog with a biscuit-colored coat and a weight of about 21.5 kg. He is strong, vigorous, and full of energy, and needs an active lifestyle as well as a caregiver ready to cope with his character. Daily, Bravo is cheerful, sociable, and likes human company. He enjoys spending time with the caregiver, easily finds his way during walks, and can walk nicely on a leash. He has a good appetite and a strong motivation to work, which can be helpful in further training. At the same time, he is a dog that tends to take control of the environment. In situations without clear rules, he can test boundaries, even use his teeth, so he requires consistent handling and clear rules. In stressful situations, he can react with aggression, which makes him unsuitable for a home with children. Bravo is a dog with two distinct sides - on one hand, a happy and energetic companion, on the other demanding and needing proper guidance. It's easy to fall for his charm and forget about the need for work, but in his case, consistency and awareness of the caregiver are crucial. We don't know his relationship with cats. In the case of a home with another dog, a prior meet-and-greet walk will be necessary to check if the dogs accept each other. Bravo needs a large amount of exercise - long walks, activity, or access to a safe area where he can run. It's a dog that doesn't tolerate boredom and lack of engagement, so an appropriate amount of physical and mental stimulation will be essential for his well-being. We are currently at a stage of getting to know Bravo better, but already now we know that we are looking for an experienced, consistent, and responsible home for him. He is a dog for a person who can set boundaries and at the same time provide him with stability and the right amount of exercise. In the right hands, Bravo has a chance to become a great, loyal companion - provided that his needs and character are properly understood and guided. Bravo is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered.

Bravo, pies urodzony w 2022 roku. Bravo to przebojowy pies o biszkoptowym umaszczeniu i wadze około 21,5 kg. W sytuacjach braku jasnych zasad potrafi testować granice, a nawet używać zębów, dlatego wymaga konsekwentnego prowadzenia i czytelnych reguł. Bravo to pies o dwóch wyraźnych obliczach – z jednej strony radosny i pełen energii kompan, z drugiej wymagający i potrzebujący odpowiedniego ukierunkowania.

About Bravo

What life with Bravo looks like

Bravo is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bravo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bravo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bravo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bravo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bravo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bravo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bravo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
