Brenda

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! Brenda has found her luck! Her story: Brenda were rescued from the roadside by our volunteers Raluca and Andras. A blessing for the little soul – she would likely have been hit by a car sooner or later. She now lives in a private foster home, but outdoors. We hope very much that the delicate female dog can soon travel. Brenda is about 3 years old and has a small size of around 25 cm and 5 kg. Her past hasn't passed her by without a trace. She was initially shy and needed time to build trust. Once she feels comfortable, she becomes more open and shows her chocolate side, and will also enjoy being petted. She still isn't used to a leash and harness, but she will get used to them. She can already be dressed. She will be cautious with new situations at first and will observe everything from a distance. She gets along well with other dogs. Optically, she is an absolute eye-catcher with her bat-like ears! For Brenda, we wish for a loving and patient home that will take her by the paw and show her how a normal dog life works. We don't know her past, but we assume she is not familiar with life in a household. She has to learn everything and is looking for people who are ready to take the first steps with her into her new life and gently guide her into it. Brenda will be able to enjoy this individual process – the pace is determined by her – and will happily go on walks with her family, demand cuddle sessions, and look forward to regular contact with her fellow animals. It is important to us that her family is convinced of positive training methods and does not work with aversive means. Our Brenda is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and can travel after a positive our area You showed Brenda how beautiful life is? Many thanks, Barbara! You have given Brenda her identity! As of: 24.02.

Vielen Dank Barbara! Du hast Brenda ihre Identität geschenkt! Stand: 24.02.2025

About Brenda

What life with Brenda looks like

Brenda is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brenda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brenda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brenda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brenda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brenda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brenda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brenda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
