Brit

Male · Young · 3 years

AGE: 3 years (*18.1.2023) WEIGHT: 9 kg Active mixed breed fox, who will not let you lie on the couch and will pull you outside in any weather. He had no training and now needs to catch up. Brit is a playful torpedo, who likes to play with people and other dogs. He would definitely welcome a dog companion, but can also be an only dog. He is too wild for cats right now, but would gradually get used to them. He has his own head, and therefore we do not recommend him for children. Outdoors he is a sweetheart, but at home it must be his way. If something does not suit him (manipulation or something is forbidden), he can get angry. For this reason, we do not recommend him for children. He knows the commands sit and come, and is still learning the command stay. Loves running around and messing outside, and would certainly appreciate a yard or garden where a person can fool around with him. However, it is important that he is part of the family in his free time and can also be inside. We are looking for an experienced owner who will not be scared off by the first problem, will work with the Brit and set clear boundaries for him. He is a kind dog at heart, but simply tests what a person can endure, just a dog teenager. If you like Brit and would like to offer him a home, please fill out our questionnaire DOTAZNÍK and we will contact you back. Please read the adoption conditions: INFO K adoption.

věk: 3 roky (*18.1.2023) váha: 9 kg Aktivní kříženec jezevčíka, který vás nenechá se povalovat na gauči a vytáhne vás ven za každého počasí. Neměl žádnou výchovu a vše to nyní potřebuje dohnat. Miluje pobíhání a řádění venku, jistě by ocenil dvorek či zahrádku, kde by s ním člověk mohl blbnout. Pokud se vám Brit líbí a máte zájem mu nabídnout domov, vyplňte nám prosím dotazník DOTAZNÍK a my vás budeme zpětně kontaktovat. Prosíme o přečtení podmínek adopce: INFO K ADOPCI.

About Brit

What life with Brit looks like

Brit is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Útulek Dogsy in Czech Republic.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Útulek Dogsy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Útulek Dogsy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Útulek Dogsy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
