Brodie

Male · Puppy · 7 months

Brodie would love to live in a smaller residential area, somewhere he can access peaceful areas for fun, sniffy walks. He’d be so happy having his own garden, where he can have plenty of zoomies and continue his housetraining, and he’d also benefit from building up his time alone whilst he settles into his new home. As he’s still a young pup and can feel unconfident in new situations, Brodie will need a family who can give him plenty of time and encouragement to find his feet. He can feel a bit worried around other dogs so will need to be the only pet in the home and could live with secondary school children given they are comfortable around a bouncy boy. Brodie is a super sweet 6 month old Husky x German Shepherd who adores spending time with his human friends. He’s a lovely lad looking for kind, patient adopters who can help him feel safe and confident as he grows. Brodie absolutely adores a fuss and will ask you for more if you stop! He is such a fun, sociable boy and loves meeting people, always very excited to greet you and say hello. With patience, understanding and plenty of encouragement, Brodie has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.

About Brodie

What life with Brodie looks like

Brodie is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at Dogs Trust Shoreham in Shoreham by Sea.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brodie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brodie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Shoreham handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brodie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brodie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Shoreham will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brodie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brodie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Shoreham early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brodie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
