adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Brownie has found a home! His story: Brownie, Livia, Bär, Lasse, Aiden, Anrai, Bronco, and Blondie are eight beautiful and cuddly siblings living in the overcrowded Public Shelter in Maia Mare, waiting for loving adopters to take them home and save them from a bleak and lonely life behind bars. The little puppies were rescued from poor husbandry and brought by the Animal Police. Now they hope for a better future! The little Brownie is only about 2.5 months old and has likely not experienced much in her short life. But she is open, curious, and oriented towards people. With her soft, black-brown fur, glossy black buttons for eyes, and a moist, shiny nose, Brownie is a truly adorable puppy. She is expected to grow into a beautiful, medium-sized female dog. At the moment, the pretty Brownie is simply a cuddly and sweet puppy that wants to be loved and protected. She is outgoing and cuddly, loves all people and dogs, and will surely try to make everything right in her new home – although she of course still doesn’t know what life in a family is like and still has a lot to learn. Her puberty won’t be far off, and this is also a time for dogs when the foundations for the rest of their life are set. We therefore recommend that Brownie be introduced to new people with the help of a positively working dog training class. Patient and loving training will strengthen Brownie's self-confidence and the bond to her trusted people. Through regular contact with fellow animals and many positive experiences with her people, the clever puppy will quickly learn the 1×1 for a wonderful family dog and develop into a happy and reliable companion. Do you have a warm dog bed and a place in your heart for the sweet Brownie? Then contact us! We would also be very happy to have a foster home for the pretty, young female dog. We thank the namingsponsor Christin-Theresa, who gave Brownie her perfect name. As of: 23.06. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

About Brownie

What life with Brownie looks like

Brownie is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brownie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brownie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brownie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brownie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brownie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brownie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brownie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
