Buck is a good dog but has a strong personality, gets along with females while with male dogs it depends a lot on their character. He is obedient and cooperative but when he was younger he did not accept being photographed, he would growl to express his dissatisfaction. Age and ailments have softened him a lot. Eats, drinks and does everything regularly but his back has caused several problems: he has been partially paralyzed four times and has had four herniated disc surgeries. Because of his back he walks badly but is independent and on good days he can even run. At home he is very good, goes on a leash and travels without problems even in a car.

Buck è un cane buono ma ha un bel caratterino, va d'accordo con le femmine mentre con i cani maschi dipende molto dal carattere che hanno. E' obbediente e collabora ma quando era più giovane non accettava di essere ripreso, ringhiava per esprimere il suo disappunto. L'età e gli acciacchi l'hanno ammorbidito molto. Mangia, beve e fa tutto regolarmente ma la sua schiena ha creato diversi problemi: è rimasto 4 volte semiparalizzato e ha fatto 4 interventi di ernia del disco. A causa della sua schiena cammina male ma è autonomo e nei giorni migliori riesce anche a correre. A casa è bravissimo, va al guinzaglio e viaggia senza problemi anche in macchina.
