Buddy

English Bulldog Β· Male Β· Puppy Β· 4 months

Buddy was originally here as a puppy. He went to a new home for a year where he was not walked regularly and barely taken out the house. Therefore Buddy did not get the socializing he needed and developed fear aggression to any new person who entered his and his owners house, seeing them as a threat. So Buddy needs a strict one to one home with someone who has no visitors. Once Buddy knows you he is very affectionate and will bark at you for attention to lie all over you or to try the food you are eating. Buddy loves his food and treats and as he is a very slow walker and sometimes refusing to walk at all he needs a strict diet to help him maintain a healthy weight. Buddy loves his toys and will often throw them around to himself in excitement. His favourite toy is a dog friendly stick, although we have tried to give him more exciting toys he always goes back to his stick. Buddy can not live with any other dogs, cats or small animals.

About Buddy

What life with Buddy looks like

Buddy is a small puppy english bulldog dog waiting at Last Chance Animal Rescue in Edenbridge.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Buddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Buddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Last Chance Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Buddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Buddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Last Chance Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Buddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Buddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Last Chance Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Buddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
