Bugaci Artemis

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

A sad story arrived with a report from Bugac. The Foundation "Supporters for Animals" went there and was shocked by what they saw. Everything mentioned in the report was true, so they immediately called the police and the official veterinarian. The procedure then began. The district office took action regarding all the animals found on the property. 36 dogs and 2 horses without identification managed to escape from the chains, the narrow and dark cages, from torture and starvation! The animals were taken out one by one, we searched for chips inside them, but we found no readers either. The authorities documented every dog. The condition of the dogs can be described as pitiful. They vomited straw and dirt and then ate it back!!! How much suffering must these unfortunate animals have gone through!? According to their "owner," these animals are wild and unpredictable. Really? Well, we certainly didn't experience that. When we took them out, some lay down on the ground, sank into the grass, rolled around, hid, and climbed into our arms. But among them were some who feared the touch of the grass, the leash, but they wagged their tails and showed no aggression at all. One thing is certain, these animals have been bred for years, their bodies have been endlessly exploited and stripped. They haven't received much from life so far...but now everything will change! From the first group, 7 completely exploited and in bad condition dogs arrived at the Noah Animal Shelter. One of them is also a young male, approximately born in 2020, medium-sized mixed breed, Artemis. A kind, active puppy who loves walking, rather running. We are looking for an owner with knowledge of the breed and experience with dogs. We do not give him for guarding the premises or as a garden decoration. Dog school is definitely compulsory! Artemis is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and wants to move into a new, permanent family.

A hatóság minden kutyát jegyzőkönyvezett. A kutyák állapota egyszóval: siralmas. Mennyi kínszenvedést élhettek át ezek a szerencsétlenek!? About Bugaci Artemis

What life with Bugaci Artemis looks like

Bugaci Artemis is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires dog school training, needs experienced owner due to rescue background from puppy mill conditions

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bugaci Artemis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bugaci Artemis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bugaci Artemis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bugaci Artemis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bugaci Artemis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bugaci Artemis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bugaci Artemis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
