Bugsy

Unknown

top of pageBugsyShareSaying Goodbye To Living In an AlleywayBugsy is a handsome tabby boy believed to be around two to three years old. He came from the alleyways of Levenshulme, where a lovely local lady has been feeding him and the other alley cats and keeping a watchful eye on them. Since being neutered, Bugsy has decided that he rather likes his home comforts. These days, he loves nothing more than curling up beside someone on the sofa or bed and snoozing the day away. Bugsy is currently living in Levenshulme. Now that he has discovered how much he enjoys being indoors, we would love to find him a comfortable forever home where he can spend the rest of his life warm, safe and loved, rather than living in an alleyway. He is a gentle, easy-going boy who does not ask for much. Give him someone to cosy up beside, a feather stick to chase and a peaceful home where he can feel safe, and he will be perfectly content. Bugsy can be shy and anxious when he first meets people, so he will need an understanding adopter who will allow him to settle at his own pace. Once he feels safe, he makes a lovely, quiet companion. Bugsy is FIV positive, but please do not let that put you off. FIV is a very slow-acting, cat-specific virus, and many FIV-positive cats enjoy long, happy lives with a normal lifespan. It cannot be passed to people or other animals. The main route of transmission between cats is through deep bite wounds during fighting, rather than through normal everyday contact. Bugsy is currently in good health. However, as he can be a bit of a scrapper with other cats, he needs to be the only cat in his new home. He will also need to live indoors to keep both him and other cats safe. Approximately two to three years old Neutered FIV positive but currently in good health Indoor home only Must be the only cat Quiet, child-free home needed Gentle and affectionate once settled Loves feather-stick play and a cosy place to snooze If you are looking for a quiet, low-maintenance companion who will be happy sharing the sofa and keeping you company, Bugsy could be the perfect cat for you. If you think you could be the right fit for Bugsy, please fill out our adoption enquiry form, and get in touch with us.bottom of page

About Bugsy

What life with Bugsy looks like

Bugsy is an adult cat waiting at PawPurrs Halfway House in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bugsy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bugsy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PawPurrs Halfway House handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bugsy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bugsy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” PawPurrs Halfway House will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bugsy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bugsy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PawPurrs Halfway House early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bugsy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
