Bundy

Male · Adult · 8 years

Hey, you giant creatures out there, I am Bundy. I ended up at the animal shelter when my attentive finder brought me in. My general condition wasn't too great, so I had to stabilize with lots of food and rest. After I regularly emptied my food bowl, the big day finally came when I was introduced to the doctor. Unfortunately, I can't handle people and defend myself with claws and teeth, so I had to be put to sleep there first. Here, I was neutered and my teeth were fixed. They had suffered greatly in the years in the wild. Unfortunately, the doctor also found out that I am FiV and FelV positive. Great... I have no idea what that means, but apparently it's enough for my caretakers to say that I can no longer be in the outdoor area. Since people still scare me a lot (maybe that will change with time), a place with a secure garden or outdoor run would be ideal for me. This way, I can maintain a safe distance from those supposedly scary bipeds without sacrificing my fresh air time. An apartment living situation with experienced, very patient, and understanding people would also be suitable for me. You should be aware, however, that I might not want to be handled at all and I can be really grumpy if it gets too cramped. Also, my caretakers can't rule out that there might be protest behavior from me in an apartment living situation. I'm still not sure about that... With my illnesses, I can still live for some time. Nobody knows exactly how long, as it depends on many factors. Stress, wrong diet, a caught cold, all these can have a significant impact on my health. Should you feel drawn to me and want to offer me a home, please give us a call up at the animal shelter. If you have questions about living with an FiV and FelV positive tomcat, please ask one of my caretakers, as they are available to you with their best knowledge and conscience. In the meantime, I continue my life up here.

Euer Bundy

About Bundy

What life with Bundy looks like

Bundy is a large adult cat waiting at Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. in Remagen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bundy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bundy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bundy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bundy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bundy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bundy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bundy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
