Bura

Unknown

A 7-year-old female dog, who has been through hell. In winter she was wandering around Radzanów, limping, not standing on one leg. However, she did not allow people to approach her. It was only a 14-year-old girl who managed to get close to her. When she was taken under the care of a veterinarian, it turned out that she had a fractured femur from the hip joint - inward, under the belly. The condition was like after being hit by a car. Surgery and worries whether she would regain mobility or if the leg would have to be amputated. Cautious prognosis and daily rehabilitation and a miracle happened - after 3 months of surgery Bura is running! Still keeps distance from people - initially suspicious, after breaking the first ice, friendly, allows to be petted, but you have to invest a lot of love and patience in her to become a trusting companion, as she should be. Weighs 10 kilograms, beautiful coat. Spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, protected against fleas and ticks. Has a good relationship with children. Gets along with other animals - dogs and cats. Lives in Radzanów near Białobrzegi on the Pilica. An adoption contract applies. We do not give dogs on a leash or to a shed.

About Bura

What life with Bura looks like

Bura is a adult dog waiting at Fundacja Psi Grosz Warszawa in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bura, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bura?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Psi Grosz Warszawa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bura on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bura if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Psi Grosz Warszawa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bura already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bura isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Psi Grosz Warszawa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bura and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
