Burli

Male · Senior · 12 years

The Miniature Pinscher Burli (5 kg) was taken in together with Lotti from another animal shelter. He originally came to the shelter after his owner passed away, and he is now looking for a new home with us. Burli is a friendly and rather calm male who really enjoys being close to people. He loves attention and is happy simply to be part of things, without pushing himself into the foreground. He is also very good-natured with other dogs. In a group he tends to be rather reserved and likes to take things a bit more calmly. Burli is curious and open-minded and enjoys exploring his surroundings. If a situation becomes too much for him or he feels insecure, he first prefers to withdraw. Given the time he needs, he can deal with new situations at his own pace. Walks are still among the things that bring Burli joy. He walks well on the leash and loves being out and about. Burli has epilepsy and is therefore on permanent medication. He is currently well regulated on it and free of seizures. We are looking for people who will give him plenty of love and attention and like to integrate him into their everyday lives. This friendly little male really doesn't need much more than that to be happy. The

About Burli

What life with Burli looks like

Burli is a small senior dog waiting at Sonnenhof für Mensch und Tier in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Burli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Burli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Sonnenhof für Mensch und Tier handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Burli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Burli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Sonnenhof für Mensch und Tier will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Burli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Burli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Sonnenhof für Mensch und Tier early rather than rehoming privately; they know Burli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
