Burrito

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 10 months

Two inseparable companions, Burrito and Langoš, came to us from a village where their owner wanted to get rid of them "anyhow." They were in danger of the worst. They are now in safety and are waiting for their second chance at a better life. BURRITO is beautiful, exceptional, a young pubescent boy full of energy and zest for life. He is a happy dog with a clean soul and incredibly friendly disposition. He gets along well with dogs. He won't jump on you, but if there's another puppyish dog, he'll join in. And he loves to play with them, encouraging them along. 🙂 He is, after all, a really energetic dog. He walks with an incredible enjoyment, everything interests him. New, unfamiliar things at the beginning amuse him. There's no reason to wonder, as he has only ever lived in a village and the world around him is still a mystery. He needs certainly good upbringing, proper guidance, and will be the best family buddy or faithful travel companion. He is clean and in the kennel run, he doesn't damage anything. Burrito will definitely not disappoint you, give him a chance? He is suitable for an apartment or a home with year-round access. He will go to his new home vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He is located in the our shelter in Švábovce near Poprad.

SK·Show original

Dvaja nerozluční kamaráti Burrito a Langoš sa k nám dostali z osady, kde sa ich majiteľ chcel „akokoľvek“ zbaviť. Hrozilo im to najhoršie. Dostali sa do bezpečia a teraz čakajú na svoju druhú šancu na lepší život. BURRITO je prekrásny, výnimočný, mladý pubertiak, ktorý je plný energie a chute do života. Je to veselý psík s čistou dušičkou a nesmierne priateľskou povahou. So psíkmi sa znáša dobre. About Burrito

What life with Burrito looks like

Burrito is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Cesta za domovom in Slovakia.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇸🇰Adopting from Slovakia

Slovak rescue groups coordinate cross-border transport with European partners. Animals are chipped and vaccinated; sterilization is often included for adults and arranged post-adoption for puppies/kittens.

Frequently asked

Adopting Burrito, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Burrito?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cesta za domovom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Burrito on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Burrito if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cesta za domovom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Burrito already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Burrito isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cesta za domovom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Burrito and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
