Adopt Bursztyn

Male · Adult · 5 years

Bursztyn is looking for a peaceful and loving home! Bursztyn is about 3-year-old male cat with a sensitive and very friendly personality. He needs a little time to trust a new person, but once he feels safe, he shows his gentle and loving nature. He arrived at us in a very poor condition, but today he is healthy and fully ready for adoption. It is likely that in the past he suffered an injury to one eye and does not see out of it, but it does not hinder his daily functioning at all. We are looking for a quiet home for Bursztyn without young children or with children over 12 years old, which respects his sensitive personality. Bursztyn is a special cat who deserves a responsible caregiver and a safe, loving home. Bursztyn is under the care of OTOZ Animals animal shelter in Tczew. The male cat is vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, declawed, and neutered. Evident number in the animal shelter: __EVIDENT_NUMBER__

Bursztyn szuka spokojnego i kochającego domu! Nr ewidencyjny w schronisku: 31/26 Testy FIV/FeLV ujemne Kontakt w sprawie adopcji: 58 531 96 56

About Bursztyn

What life with Bursztyn looks like

Bursztyn is a adult cat waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bursztyn, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bursztyn?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bursztyn on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bursztyn if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bursztyn already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bursztyn isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bursztyn and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
