adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Cahya has found her home! Her story: 47647 Kerken. Cahya has been in her foster home since late November and has developed absolutely positively, with small progress becoming more noticeable every day. She is open, curious, playful, and enjoys being stroked. Her initial hesitation disappears very quickly when she realizes that you have no ill intentions. She ignores her fellow animals, but a visit to a dog training class that works with positive reinforcement could bring further positive steps forward. She also masters being alone for short periods and driving. Cahya is now approximately 4 years old, about 45 cm tall. Thus, in her prime, having passed puberty, with a bright future ahead. The beautiful name Cahya means "Light." Originally, Cahya came from the Shelter Baia Mare, where she made small progress despite a stressful environment. She already knew her leash and dishes there. The shelter was a big challenge for her, with no one taking care of her, and the chance for a better future was only told to her but never proven. She longed for a cozy bed in a warm home with people who love her. This thought kept her going and from giving up completely. After an appropriate settling-in period, a visit to a dog training class that works exclusively with positive reinforcement could be considered for her, to play with fellow animals and learn the Dog ABC together with you. This also fosters the bond between human and dog. The wonderful female dog needs time to build trust with humans, so you should stand by her with patience and empathy. She gets along well with her fellow animals. She does not know cats and cannot be tested with them. Cahya is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She brings her EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive match. Who will give the wonderful Cahya her own home? Many thanks to Sandra L.! You gave Cahya her name!

Vielen Dank Sandra L.! Du hast Cahya ihren Namen geschenkt!

About Cahya

What life with Cahya looks like

Cahya is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cahya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cahya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cahya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cahya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cahya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cahya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cahya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
