Cali is a 6-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, weighing 18.7kg. She came into Islay Dog Rescue due to a change in family circumstances. She is now searching for the loving, permanent home she deserves. Cali is a beautiful, affectionate girl who loves attention and will happily roll over for belly rubs. She knows basic commands, walks nicely on a lead, and has previously lived in a home environment. She is house-trained, although if left alone for more than a few hours she may occasionally have an accident. She can be a little excitable at times and may jump up or try to snatch food from people. Because of this, we do not believe she would be suitable for a home with children. Her previous owner reported that she could occasionally be reactive towards passing dogs while out on walks. However, since arriving at Islay Dog Rescue, Cali has successfully met and walked alongside several other dogs without showing any signs of reactivity. Although she has not previously lived with another dog, she has enjoyed playing with canine friends and may be able to live with another dog following careful introductions. Like many Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Cali is energetic and has a high prey drive. For this reason, she cannot live with cats or small animals. In return, she offers all the wonderful qualities the breed is known for: loyalty, affection, playfulness, and a loving nature.
