Carol

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Carol - Lovely cuddly dog seeks his forever home 🖤 The handsome Carol was found on the street with his five siblings. The whole litter lived for a longer time in a foster home in Borsa, Romania. Some of the dogs were allowed to pack their bags already - so Carol, who was able to travel to Germany in October, is now waiting for his forever home in a foster home in 48429 Rheine. 🧳 Carol is a cheerful, playful and very cuddly male, who loves the closeness of his humans. He orients himself well on them, is obedient and wants to learn. At the same time, he is an attentive observer, who perceives his environment confidently and can be quite vigilant. With Carol, there is always something to laugh about, because with his funny nature, he brings a lot of joie de vivre. Carol has also learned a lot in everyday life: He can already walk well on a leash, travels problem-free in the car and knows stairs. With a regular daily routine, he is house-trained and can stay alone for two to three hours in his foster home. He also masters drying off and brushing well. Carol is social with other dogs. In his foster home, he likes to cuddle and play with the existing dog. A nice dog buddy would therefore like to wait for him. Just as well, we can imagine Carol as a single prince, because he likes to have his humans all to himself and cuddle with them extensively. He especially likes to lie outside and observe the happenings in peace. Of course, Carol also brings a few construction sites with him, where he can work together. When it comes to food, he gets very excited and can become a bit unrestrained. This is not meant aggressively, but he needs clear, calm rules and people who give him security. In addition, Carol still needs to learn to relax properly. A fixed rest zone and a reliable daily routine will help him with this. Sometimes Carol needs to relieve stress in his own way and chews on things that are not intended for this purpose. 😜 Vacuum cleaners and items with handles, such as brooms or scrubbers, are not yet quite familiar to him at the moment. With patience, understanding and positive experiences, he can learn to master such situations more relaxed. We wish for Carol calm, loving people who give him time to settle into his new life. A hectic household would not be suitable for him. Much more important are a regular daily routine, clear structures, sufficient joint activities and above all a lot of cuddle time. Whoever adopts Carol gets a cheerful, affectionate and willing to learn companion, who will enchant his humans with his good mood. He needs people who not only see his sunny sides, but also accompany him lovingly on his further learning path. 🖤 Do you have a place on the sofa, a heart full of love and joy at the prospect of going through life with a great dog? Then Carol might just be the right one for you! Carol is looking forward to getting to know his people for life. The most important information: Carol, male, approx. September 2023, neutered, approx. 55 cm tall, has a shortened tail, comes from Romania, chipped, vaccinated, treated against ticks and fleas, has a safety harness and a blue EU passport. This is our assessment of the current behavior in the foster home, but how the dog will show and develop, we cannot predict. We can not guarantee future behavior or health status in the rest of life.

About Carol

What life with Carol looks like

Carol is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Mischlingsliebe e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Carol, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Carol?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Mischlingsliebe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Carol on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Carol if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Mischlingsliebe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Carol already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Carol isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Mischlingsliebe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Carol and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
