Carrie

Persian · Female · Senior · 13 years

Hello, I am Carrie, I had to be given up here unfortunately for private reasons and am now searching for a wonderful forever home. I came to the animal shelter with my friend Ronnie. We have known each other since we were young and get along well, and I would love to move out with him. I don't necessarily need other cats, especially not if they steal my precious attention. To get that attention, I even purr. People are totally awesome. I love to snuggle and really enjoy it – that's when the Persian in me shows! Due to my long fur, I need to be regularly brushed (which I love), otherwise I tangle up quickly. Although I'm not the youngest anymore, the vet says my values are still top-notch! In my old home, I learned to love and appreciate the secure roam. For my new home, I wish for the same opportunity for a quiet or secure roam, because I would love to take in some fresh air and explore my surroundings. If you'd like to give a little princess like me a chance, then feel free to contact the this breed at the our shelter!. This cat needs outdoor access.

DE·Show original

Eure Carrie

About Carrie

What life with Carrie looks like

Carrie is a small senior persian cat waiting at Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. in Remagen.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Carrie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Carrie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Carrie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Carrie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Carrie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Carrie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Carrie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
