CARRY

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

CARRY is a greyhound born in May 2016. Her story is one that leaves a lasting impression, not just for what she has endured, but for the strength and tenderness with which she has persevered. She was rescued from a very harsh environment: living amidst piles of garbage and debris, surrounded by dirt and loneliness, trying to care for her seven puppies with what little she had. Still, she never gave up. Thanks to her instinct and maternal love, she managed to keep all of them alive until we could rescue them and bring them to our shelter. Among those little ones were Zabel, Ron, and Kelly, three of her children who still remain at our shelter, growing strong and happy thanks to the protection their mother once gave them. However, CARRY not only needs physical care but also emotional support. Her past has left her with invisible scars: she is a shy, cautious dog who observes before she trusts. But when she feels safe, she transforms. She approaches slowly, seeks a stroke, a kind gaze… and then lets out all the love that she carries within. Her loyalty and tenderness are a reflection of her nobility. Additionally, CARRY has a heart murmur, for which she is under veterinary treatment. She needs a calm family that can offer her a serene life, without surprises, with short walks, and plenty of rest. Ideally, she would be in a home with a garden, where she can enjoy the fresh air and the sun. CARRY represents so many forgotten, used, and then discarded mothers, still waiting for a second chance. But she has already shown that she deserves much more than just surviving: she deserves to live with dignity, surrounded by love and understanding. If you believe that your home can be that shelter of calm and affection that CARRY needs, do not hesitate to contact us. She is ready to meet what a true family is, and we assure you that her gratitude will fill your life with unconditional love.

About CARRY

What life with CARRY looks like

CARRY is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Huellas Callejeras in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting CARRY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CARRY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Huellas Callejeras handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CARRY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CARRY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Huellas Callejeras will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is CARRY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CARRY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Huellas Callejeras early rather than rehoming privately; they know CARRY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
