adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Casper has found a home! His story: Casper is the perfect family dog for a large family! As long as he's around and can cuddle, be friendly, be petted, and be the Casper of the evening ❤️🥰 Casper, the friendly young pup with a big heart and even bigger potential, is searching for his people – a family of his own would be his greatest wish! Friendly to people and dogs, on a leash, cuddly, and people-oriented – Casper brings everything a uncomplicated companion for life needs. The approximately 3-year-old male dog showed himself to be very approachable, calm, and at the same time curious as a young dog both in the shelter in Romania and in his current foster home. He gets along well with female and male dogs, lived in a mixed dog group and with a male dog in his foster home. Casper always shows excellent social behavior. He also gets along well with cats, currently living with cats. Toward people, Casper is absolutely affectionate: He seeks closeness, loves cuddles, is easily handled, and follows his familiar trusted people with full trust step by step. Even with strangers and children, he warms up quickly – a real gem with a fine character. With his shoulder height of about 59 cm and current weight of around 25 kg, he is a rather large size. He already walks nicely on a leash – ideal prerequisites for all who would like to be out with him later. A young male dog in the best age with character and charm. Casper has so much potential: He is friendly, people-oriented, eager to learn, and never pushy or demanding. He is a rather quiet representative, but enjoys being with his people and will surely integrate well in many life situations. The great guy is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Of course, he has his EU pet passport with him. Stand: 04.01. Walks well on a leash.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Carsten L.! Du hast Casper seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 04.01.2026

About Casper

What life with Casper looks like

Casper is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Casper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Casper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Casper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Casper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Casper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Casper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Casper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
