Cecillius

Mixed Breed · Male

Cecillius - or Krzyś… the cat who shouldn’t have survived, yet he still waits. When found, he was spinning in circles in the middle of the street. Helpless. Disoriented. Blind. He didn’t see the approaching cars. He didn’t see the danger. He had no chances. It was a miracle that someone stopped for a moment. That someone looked at him not as a problem… but as a living being begging for help. If not for that, Krzyś would have likely died where he was left - from hunger, under car wheels, bitten by other animals. Alone, terrified in a world he couldn’t understand, which he no longer saw. Yet Krzyś is not an “street cat.” He is a house cat. Someone’s. Probably abandoned – like an unwanted object. Like a burden someone wanted to get rid of. Because Krzyś loves a human. Despite everything, he is incredibly delicate, gentle, and quiet. He seeks contact, snuggles, trusts, and purrs. There is not a hint of wildness in his behavior – only a need for warmth, safety, and the presence of another being. This is a cat who doesn’t understand why he was left alone. His world is now dark. But his heart… is still bright. Krzyś manages in his own way – he has adapted to his isolation, has a favorite cloud where he sleeps, and uses the litter box neatly. He demands food and a human. He needs a quiet, patient home that will show him that life can still be good. Because it can. Really, it can. With proper care, blind cats can live happily – they learn boundaries, find comfort in routine, and love just as strongly as any other. Krzyś doesn’t need much. A warm spot. Peace. Someone who won’t leave him. Not ever. We are looking for a responsible home for him, one that stays in (secured windows/balcony – an absolute necessity), a quiet home without small children – where he will feel safe. Krzyś is a middle-aged, steady tomcat with very good blood test results. He is neutered, declawed, and vaccinated. He has negative FIV/FeLV tests. If you can look with your heart, not just your eyes… if you want to be someone’s whole world… Krzyś is waiting. And though he may not see your face, he will remember your kindness forever.

PL·Show original

Gdyby nie to – Krzyś najpewniej umarłby tam, gdzie go zostawiono. Spokoju. Kogoś, kto go nie zostawi. .

About Cecillius

What life with Cecillius looks like

Cecillius is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cecillius, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cecillius?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cecillius on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cecillius if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cecillius already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cecillius isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cecillius and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
