Old Cedrik lived outdoors as a stray, didn't consider people worth any attention, and planned to die alone under a bush somewhere, no cremation, no will, and that's that. And now, this new Cedrik, the one here at the moment who got amateurishly caught trying to steal a tuna can from a shelf, I'm doing my best to act like I meant the death part seriously and don't care about love. I'm a miserable actor. When I snarl, you can't catch your breath in my head to realize that while I'm pretending it doesn't taste good, I'm already downing a second portion, and when I talk about seeing light at the end of the tunnel, I'm gulping down my heart medication, the only one I have a prescription for. Neumíte si představit, jak je to těžký, když se ve vás pere starý já a nový já. Starej Cedrik žil venku jako smeťoš, lidi nepovažoval za druh hodnej pozornosti a plánoval umřít někde sám pod keřem, žádný velký drámo, bez závěti a tak. A teď já, novej Cedrik, ten co tu je vod chvíle, co se dost amatérsky nechal lapit na kus tuňáka z plechu, se ze všech sil snažim tvářit, že jsem to s tim umíránim myslel vážně a o lásku fakt nestojim. Jsem mizernej herec. Když vrčim, nestíhá si hrášek v mý hlavičce uvědomit, že se u toho zbytek mýho tělíčka freneticky mazlí, když se tvářim, že mi nechutná, hrnu do sebe už druhej přídavek a když vyprávim o tom, jak už vidim světlo na konci tunelu, statečně u toho polykam lék na nemocný srdce, na který jediný mám ofiko papír.
