Cera

Belgian Shepherd · Female · Puppy · 2 months

Meet our fun-loving bright spark, Cera. Cera is a 9-week-old Belgian Malinois cross who is wonderfully playful, cuddly, and full of enthusiasm for life. She loves spending time with people and is already showing some lovely budding social skills with other dogs. She enjoys play, exploring her world, and is an enthusiastic little learner. Cera may be suited to a variety of home environments, potentially including a home with children or other animals, subject to the right introductions and ongoing guidance. What we are particularly looking for is an owner with a good understanding of the Belgian Malinois breed, a lifestyle that genuinely complements an active, intelligent and driven dog, and a desire to channel Cera’s energy and enthusiasm into positive, constructive outlets. Even at this young age, Cara is showing many of the characteristics the Belgian Malinois is known and revered for: she is energetic, eager to learn, determined and enthusiastic when something captures her interest. She is on track to grow up into a highly active and motivated dog and is therefore seeking a human sidekick who shares similar interests for engagement, training, play, and exercise. For the right person, who truly sees these traits as exciting opportunities, Cera will make an incredible partner in crime. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Cera, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. tch for the dog in question.

About Cera

What life with Cera looks like

Cera is a large puppy/kitten belgian shepherd dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cera, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cera?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cera on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cera if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cera already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cera isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cera and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
