Coole Cesar

Male · Adult · 6 years

This large but friendly giant of almost 7 years (born on 08-08-2019) is named Cesar. This sweet boy came to our shelter after the death of his owner. Despite this major change, Cesar remains a cheerful and affectionate dog who greatly enjoys attention and companionship. Cesar loves playing, but he's just as fond of cuddling. In fact, he sometimes forgets how big he actually is and thinks he's a lap dog. This youngster usually walks nicely on a leash. However, he can react to other dogs at short distances, making it essential to be confident when approaching him. He can also sometimes focus on pedestrians and cyclists/scooters, making it difficult to get his attention. So far, he has never really attacked anyone. We are looking for a home with a garden situation where no other pets are present. As for children, we expect that he could be placed with children from 12 years old who understand how to interact with a dog in a calm and respectful manner. During an introduction, it will have to be determined if they match each other. According to family information, Cesar can stay home alone for a few hours (after acclimation). However, he may bark at the doorbell or passing dogs. After losing his owner, Cesar deserves a warm new home. Does he have a lap, a couch, or just a spot close by where this big boy can stay? Fill out an application form on our website and you might be able to meet him in person.

About Coole Cesar

What life with Coole Cesar looks like

Coole Cesar is a large adult dog waiting at Dierenopvangcentrum Breda in Breda.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coole Cesar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coole Cesar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenopvangcentrum Breda handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coole Cesar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coole Cesar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenopvangcentrum Breda will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coole Cesar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coole Cesar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenopvangcentrum Breda early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coole Cesar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
