CETUS is a gray male cat born around 2019. He came to the Cat Shelter together with many other cats, including Capella, Navi, and Canopus, from an uncontrolled breeding situation at a stable in Vagnhärad where they were not taken care of. He got a home in November 2022 but came back to the shelter in May 2026 when the other cats in his home were hostile towards him. Cetus or Laban, as I have chosen to call him, came to the Cat Shelter together with his large, gray relative from a farm where they were not taken care of. The first time I met him, it was difficult to distinguish him among the 20 or so exact same slender, gray, and green-eyed family members he shared a section with. But upon closer inspection, he stood out from the rest—his one ear has been flattened by something and is permanently deformed. I affectionately call him "Laban Skrynkelöra." This is a little guy who has received far too little of what a cat should have in life—love, food, security, and care. At first, when presented with food or stroked, it seemed as though he couldn’t believe that anyone truly wanted him, his entire facial expression showing the insecure question: "Really? For me?!" When he finally understood that it was for him, he became overjoyed. Laban is the opposite of 'detached.' After becoming more secure with his foster family, it seems as though he has no upper limit to how long he can go— he can keep going as long as he wants. However, it is not recommended to try to lift him! Then the old fear comes back, and with it, the claws. I would so much like for Laban to be given a home where he will be a priority. Not forever overlooked, or content with the scraps of life he has received so far. The one who adopts him will, over time, receive an incredibly loyal and trusting cat whose gratitude is evident. A bonus perk: SOL! Laban is a sun worshiper without equal! Unfortunately, I live with all the windows and balcony facing north, but as soon as there is the slightest bit of sunlight anywhere, he has done everything to get to it! If a new home or mate has a window with sun, I know he would be OVERLYCKLIG.

CETUS är en grå hankatt född ca 2019. Han kom till Katthemmet tillsammans med många andra katter, bland andra Capella, Navi och Canopus, från ett stall i Vagnhärad där de förökat sig okontrollerat och inte tagits om hand. Han fick ett hem i November 2022 men kom i retur Maj 2026 då dom andra katterna i hemmet var elaka emot honom. Cetus eller Laban som jag valt att kalla honom kom till katthemmet tillsammans med sin stora, gråa släkt från en bondgård där de inte tagits om hand. Första gången jag skulle träffa honom var det svårt att urskilja honom bland det 20-tal exakt likadana slanka, grå och grönögda familjemedlemmar han delade avdelning med. Men vid närmande betraktande särskiljde han sig från de andra - hans ena öronspets har råkat ut för något och är permanent vikt. Jag brukar kärleksfullt kalla honom för ”Laban Skrynkelöra”. Detta är en liten kille som fått alldeles för lite av allt vad en katt ska ha i livet - kärlek, mat, trygghet, omvårdnad. I början när man ställde fram mat eller strök honom över pälsen så var det som om han inte kunde ta in att någon ville honom väl, hela hans ansiktsuttryck visade den osäkra frågan: ”Verkligen? Till mig?!”. När han väl förstått att det var till honom blev han överlycklig. Vadän motsatsordet till ’bortskämd’ är så beskriver det Laban. Efter att han väl blivit trygg med gos ock kel är det som att han inte har något övre tak där han tycker att det räcker - han kan hålla på precis hur länge som helst. Dock rekommenderas inte att försöka lyfta honom! Då kommer den gamla rädslan och därmed klorna. Jag vill så gärna att Laban ska få komma till någon där han får bli prioriterad.. Inte evigt bortvald, eller få nöja sig med smulorna livet hittills har gett honom. Den som adopterar honom kommer, med tiden, att få en otroligt lojal och tillgiven katt vars tacksamhet är påtaglig. Ett bonusömskemål: SOL! Laban är en soldyrkre utan like! Tyvärr bor jag med alla fönster + balkong åt norr, men så fort det funnits minsta lilla solstrimma någonstans har han gjort allt för att ta sig dit! Om nya husse eller matte har ett fönster med sol så vet jag att han skulle bli ÖVERLYCKLIG.
