Charlie

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 9 years

Charlie is a healthy, robust 8-year-old tomcat. He was used to going out on his own, always knowing that the door would be open for him whenever he got hungry or wanted a warm place to sleep indoors. Last year, Charlie lived with the family of a cousin of his original owners. But there, he wasn’t allowed to go outside. This was frustrating for Charlie, leading to aggressive behavior. And nobody enjoys that. That’s why we’re looking for a new home for this lovely, free-spirited tomcat. He’d certainly love to cuddle and give head bumps. Charlie really enjoys people—as long as he’s also allowed to go outside and explore the neighborhood. Charlie has no problem with other cats; he leaves them alone and keeps a respectful distance. He’s now looking for a home with a garden in a cat-friendly neighborhood. About Charlie

What life with Charlie looks like

Charlie is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Stichting Animals Faith in Netherlands.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Charlie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Charlie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Animals Faith handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Charlie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Charlie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Animals Faith will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Charlie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Charlie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Animals Faith early rather than rehoming privately; they know Charlie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
